Contractor Fire Protection is currently seeking an experienced fire sprinkler fitter to assist in the installation of fire protection piping, valves, and accessories for commercial and industrial application. Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • This position will include TI work, head change outs, system installation or retro-fit’s wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems based on our customer’s needs.
  • Work may include off hours/shift/weekend work as required
  • Highly organized, motivated team player that can maintain good customer relationships.
  • Maintain proper documentation for work performed.
  • Be able to read blueprints and work independently under supervision of a foreman and superintendent
  • Certifications are a plus. They are not required but encouraged to pursue.
  • Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs and be capable of performing physical labor.
  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
  • Ensures that each work detail is consistently completed with clean and quality workmanship
  • Flexible team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Valid Driver’s License, and a dependable means of transportation to the employer’s place of business and/or jobsite, and to the place where classroom job related instruction is conducted
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others

The fire sprinkler service technician position performs service, repairs and installation associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment in accordance with all national and local standards. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, repairs, or replaces fire sprinkler equipment and systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Testing, inspecting and performing maintenance and repairs on wet, pre-action, foam, fire pumps and dry fire sprinkler systems. Including steel pipe, copper pipe, and CPVC.
  • Hydrant flow testing and fire pump testing.
  • Tenant improvements on both commercial and residential.
  • Certifications are a plus. They are not required but encouraged to pursue.
  • Work may include off hours/shift/weekend work as required

Contractor Fire Protection is currently seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician. The Fire Alarm Technician position performs service, repairs and installation of fire alarm and detection systems per all national and local standards. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Technician to perform service and repairs and small TI’s/Installations on Fire Alarm systems including systems tied into Sprinkler systems (Wet, Pre-action, Dry, and Special Hazards)
  • Service, troubleshoot a variety of fire Alarm systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and submittal specifications
  • Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a professional manner
  • Participation in an on-call rotation
  • Work may include off hours/shift/weekend work as required
  • Highly organized, motivated team player that can maintain good customer relationships.
  • Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs and be capable of performing physical labor.
  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Understanding of basic Fire alarm codes using NFPA 70E and NFPA 72
  • Other Licenses will be considered for an increased Rate of Pay
  • CSA/NICET Certifications a plus
  • Fire Alarm Programming Experience a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds
